Mumbai: Of late, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India (MeitY) has made an announcement on the launch of the Blockchain India Challenge aimed at advancing blockchain-led digital governance solutions.
The launch of the Blockchain India Challenge, by MeitY, marks a landmark initiative that reflects India’s growing commitment to fostering innovation, technology adoption, and entrepreneurship. By inviting startups to develop blockchain-based solutions for governance, public services, and critical sectors such as education, power, and Internet of Things (IoT), among others, this challenge not only stimulates creative problem-solving but also accelerates the adoption of secure, transparent, and scalable technologies that can fundamentally transform the way citizens and institutions interact.
Talking to Bizz Buzz, Anuj Kumar Garg, VP - Engineering, ZebPay, says, “Initiatives like this provide a critical platform for visionary startups to pilot real-world solutions, collaborate with government departments, and contribute meaningfully to building India’s digital infrastructure.”
We are committed to supporting the ecosystem through knowledge sharing, technical training, mentorship, and collaborative research initiatives, backed by the objective to partner with relevant stakeholders, to enable meaningful blockchain innovation. Through these efforts, we’re keen to witness how developers, engineers, and entrepreneurs harness blockchain for tangible societal impact, positioning India as a global leader in the field and driving the country toward a more transparent, efficient, and digitally-empowered future, he said.
When builders, policymakers, and communities come together to foster emerging technologies, they lay the foundation for India to shape the future of the global digital economy.
Nischal Shetty, Founder, WazirX said, “We should encourage more on blockchain innovation as a collective public-private partnership across the country, since we’re building towards the same goals in the Web3 ecosystem.”
